July 2016:
On Monday, we hiked the Tallulah River Gorge! It is about a 5 mile hike and ALLLLLL paved, so we were able to take the stroller!! Yeah for not carrying toddlers back out! Woop woop!
After the hike we headed Roadhouse BBQ for lunch... this place is LEGIT delish! Highly recommend it...especially the macaroni and brisket! So good!!
We also managed to snag some water-ish shoes from Walmart, so that night we HAD to break them in! We packed a picnic and walked back down to Mud Falls!

The girls absolutely LOVED exploring the waterfall and river with their new water shoes!! |
Blakely found little tiny Salamanders in the water under the rocks! |
Katy Ellis played with sticks and made up songs... no one has any idea what she was singing... but she sang ALLLLLL the time! Our little musician! |
Katy Ellis loves anything that looks like a pen... pine straw, sticks, pens, markers, pencils, straw, paintbrush.... she will literally use anything as "pen & paper!" She either gonna be an artist, author or blogger! But she is always writing/drawing on her "paper." |
Happy girl in her happy place! |
This is probably the memory of this vacation that will stick with me! Blakely and her daddy would like climb about 30 feet up the mountain, and then go swimming in a pool in the middle of the waterfall! Blakely loved exploring this area and swimming in the falls! She was so proud to be such a big girl! She literally would beg us ALLLLL day every day to go back to the falls! I think we went at least 1x per day... this became our "pool" for the week! Note to self: do not bring nice bathing suits, and DO NOT forget the water shoes! |
Happy Half Birthday to Blakely! We always let her pick out her "cake." This year she picked 4th of July PomPom cake from the Valley Café! |
