11 Weeks Picture

March 20th: 11 Weeks Old!!

Blakely is 11 weeks old today!! This has been a very busy and exciting week. GrandAnnie (Richard's Mom) came to visit from Nova Scotia!!! Blakely loved getting to spend some quality time with her Grandmother from the North!! This was also the first week of Night Shifts in the ED for me, which meant Richard got to be the one to get put Blake-A-Boo to bed and feed her in the middle of night. Just call him Mr. Mom!! :)

Highlights from the Week:
- GrandAnnie comes to visit
- Mommy is gone at night... and Daddy pinch hits!
- Blakely discovers her hands- wringing them ALL the time
- Blakely loves to stretch and play on her changing table
- Blakely is FINALLY able to sit up and play in the Bumbo chair
- Able to grab the edges of her clothing... LOVES to flash us! HA!

10 Week Old Picture

March 13th: Double Digits!!

Blakely is 10 weeks old this week!! The end of single digit weeks feels like the end of the "newborn" phase... she is becoming quite the little lady with lots of opinions and personality. This week was really hard, because I REALLY went back to work. At 5 weeks old, I returned to work, but I was on a Radiology rotation (nicknamed: "Radi-Holiday"). I was home by noon every day, and only missed a couple of hours. Now, I am on ER and working 12 hour shifts.

This change has been really hard for me, but amazing for Richard. He has gotten to be the one to pick up Blakely after work, put her to bed and feed her in the middle of night. He is an amazing Daddy, and I am so glad they are getting this special Daddy-Daughter time.

- First Time to Church with Mommy and Daddy

- First time sleeping through the night (8pm-6am!!) Yeah Blakely!!

- Really starting to play and interact, sitting in her Bumbo chair briefly.

- Starting to Laugh- Breathy "hee-hee-hee" while smiling and lots of squealing.

Week 9 Picture

March 6th: Blakely is 9 weeks old!!

This was a very big week for Blakely. She had her 2 month Well Check on Monday, and got her first set of shots. I am a pediatrician, so I give shots to babies pretty much everyday. I thought I would be strong. I thought I would want her to get the shots. But... I TOTALLY was not. I had to wait in the hallway while Richard stayed with her.... then when the shots were done, I rushed in and rescued her from the (evil) nurse! Blakely did great. She only cried for like 2 minutes, then slept the rest of the day!! She is the best baby.

Blakely was so grumpy on her 2 month birthday (probably because of her shots), so getting her to smile was a challenge. This is one of 2 shots where she isn't pouting. Ha! 

Two Month Doctors Visit... Loves to be naked!! First time seeing Dr. Miller.... as Dr. Leverett!! Congratulations Dr. Barbara!!!

Happy Two Months Birthday, Blake-A-Bear!!! Love you so much!!!
