Monkey Business: Christmas Fun!

December 2016:

Olaf returns!! He got very creative this year!! He grew a beard, impersonated superman and spiderman, rode a Pegasus pony and rescued princess Elsa!!

This year we put our tree up BEFORE Thanksgiving!! I have never done this before, and I LOVED having this extra time with all the decorations up! New family tradition!!

Our family tradition is to decorate the tree together to Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas CD and then to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol together!! Always a magical night at the Monk house!!

While the girls are little, we put the important/ fragile ornaments towards the top and the softer, more durable ornaments near the bottom of the tree.

They LOVE helping!!

Katy Ellis became OBSESSED with these ornaments with GrandMom and GrandPop's faces on them! She didn't put GrandMom's down for DAYS!! She took her everywhere and slept with it clutched in her fist every night!!

Movie watching broke down and eventually just turned into Couch Diving!!
Blakely: "Come on Sissy! Hurry! Hold my hand!! 1-2-3 JUMP!!"
This was followed by an insane amount of giggling as they threw themselves onto the couch!

Rather than drive through the Saluda River Christmas Lights this year, we participated in a 5k!! It was so much fun, and a much better way to see the lights! Definitely a new family tradition!!

This was Blakely's jam!! She would have decorated ornaments all day long!!

Just after this picture, Alyssa stepped away to deal with a Nap-Boycotting Lawson.... I took my eye off Walker for 1 second and he pulled the WHOLE tablecloth- with all the little, tiny decorations and ornaments on it... INTO THE FLOOR!! My mercy! What a mess!!

But all is well the ends well.... the finished product!!

Blakely ready for her 4K Christmas Program!!

Sweet toothless Banksie!! This was my first time seeing him since he knocked his front teeth out. I think he looks super cute and adorable!!! "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!"
The sweetest thing that happened after Banks teeth were removed was when he saw Blakely for the first time. She didn't ask him where his teeth went or make a joke about it... she just ran up to him, hugged him and said "Oh Banks! You look so handsome!!" I just love their precious little relationship!!
