Disney Fort Wilderness

September 2016: Cabin Camping with Disney

I love Disney!! Disney does vacations for toddlers PERFECTLY!! We already knew we would be going into the parks in January, but we still wanted a kid friendly vacation for September. Years ago... probably when I was in Middle or High School... my family rented a cabin and golf cart at Fort Wilderness. I remember it being one of my favorite vacations growing up, so I thought it would be super fun with the girls!! I was so RIGHT, and the girls had a blast!!!!

This crew is vacation bound!!

Too much excitement for one day!!

This girl is going to DISNEY WORLD!!

Our cute little cabin! Isn't it precious!??

Breakfast on the porch!! I don't think we EVER ate inside... we always ate at the pool or on our porch!! Too pretty to be inside!!

In the mornings, we would golf cart or walk to the parks to play before the pools opened at 9am.

"Cue the Deer." Everything Disney does is magical, and I really wouldn't put it past them to cast all the amazing animals we saw this week... but remembering that this was all once a swamp, I think there is a good chance most of the animals really live here!!!

Marshmallow roasting at the Sing-a-long!!

Blakely loves s'mores but she HATED the fire... always had to get Daddy to roast her a marshmallow.

Sing-a-long with Chip and Dale!!!

Chip!! We learned this week that the way to tell them apart is by their nose. Chip has a "chocolate chip" nose!

Dale!! The girls love meeting new Disney Pals!!

Movie Under the Stars!!
At night they have a big bonfire, sing along and Movie!! We tried to go every night.

You can't tell from KE face, but this was one of their favorite things to do!

MMMMMMMMM S'mores!!!

We had so many wildlife sightings throughout the week. Wild turkey, armadillos, raccoons... but most of all DEER!! We even saw a mama deer with two little spotty foals. It was magical. Blakely named this one "Vanilla."

If you stay at Fort Wilderness you HAVE to get a golf cart.... SO MUCH FUN!! And literally the only way to get to the pool, beach, playgrounds and restaurants.

Pool bound!!!

The girls LOVED golf carting!!!

Mommy and Daddy might have liked it too!!

Only low point of the vacation was when Blakely got a fever at the pool.... poor thing! She feel asleep on the golf cart ride home. Thankfully, she rallied and we still managed to enjoy the rest of our vacation.

These two love an early morning golf cart ride!! Every morning before we would head to pool with would golf cart ride, then take a BIG walk to the playground by the lake!!

Every morning, we would start the day with a 4 mile walk!! It was pretty incredible!! Nothing like walking past campsites and the smell of maple syrup with bacon!!! MMMMMMMM!!!!

Even the sidewalk has Mickey ears!

Hitting the playground early in our jammies still... yea- we classy!

Chasing wild turkeys after dinner one night!!

This went on for a while...

Horses!! We even got to go on a horse back ride!!

Pony ride time... for two little Lunch Ladies!! Bahahahaha!!

The hairnets were just killing me! I laughed so hard!! Too funny!

Katy Ellis LOVED that she was actually big enough for a pony ride!!!

Oh yea... we rocked the tacky Disney bathing suits!!

Pool time!!

The main pool had a big water slide, big pool, hot tub and a wet playground with mini slides!! It was awesome!!

Katy Ellis was OBSESSED with the slides on the Wet Playground... she RARELY went to the big pool. She only ever wanted to be in here!! She loved it!

One of Blakely's favorite things for the week was having her own cup at the pool! These are refillable, and she loved getting to pick what she wanted to drink.... she might have gotten a little addicted to Blue Powerade!

Blakely fell in love with the big waterslide. KE tried it... but didn't like it. I don't even think its an exaggeration to say she rode it at least 100x per day!!

Katy Ellis made a new friend, and learned how to share her toys!!

Big girl on the Big slide!!

She thought she was BIG STUFF on the slide!!

Splash down!!

Mickey's Backyard BBQ Bound!!!
I have been to a LOT of character dinners and Disney dinners... THIS! THIS WAS THE BEST ONE EVER!! If you've never gone to Mickey's Backyard BBQ, you have to! It was so awesome!! The food was amazing, the atmostphere so fun... and the kids got to dance the night away with their fav Disney pals!! AWESOME!!

It poured BUCKET the night of the BBQ, but this just seemed to fuel the fun of the party going on!! I don't think anyone minded the rain... until it was time to go home.

The food was so good!!

RIBS!!!
Blakely boogying the night away with Minnie!!

Dancing Sissy's!!

There was a wild west show and professional lasso show!! It was really amazing.

Best part.... unlimited Mickey Icecream bars and Sandwiches! Duh!

So messy, but so good!

Square dance with Minnie!!

Rich busting a move!!

Slow dancing with his favorite big girl!!!

Bus ride to Disney Springs!!

Headed to Raglan Road!!

A little Disney shoppping...

For the life of me, I cannot remember what happened to KE's head... but it was in EVERY pic!!

The show at Raglan Road was awesome... and our seats were right up front!! So awesome!!

KE was mesmerized by the beautiful dancers!

Blakely even got to participate in a Dance lesson!!

She was sooooooooo brave!!!

Monorail ride over to Chef Mickey's for breakfast!!

Always a favorite stop!!

Sticker Happy!!

The last big Hurrah of the week... The Hoopty Doo Review!!
