PUMPKIN TIME!!

October: Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Carving

Blakely is a girl after her mother's heart... she loves holidays!! She gets super excited about twinkly lights, costumes, fall leaves, scare crows, and above all pumpkins. For weeks now, when we would pass the road side stands, she would point and yell "MAMA! MAMA!! PUMPKINS!!" This happens every...single... time... without fail! So I knew we HAD to get this girl a pumpkin... STAT!

Last Friday, Rich and I took the girls to Sease's farm to pick out a pumpkin and take some pictures.

Blakely was so excited when we got there!! She literally ran pumpkin to pumpkin yelling "how 'bout dis one?"

My sweet little pumpkins.

Blakely was also really excited about all the sunflowers!
"Oooo, pretty mama. So pretty.

Don't worry, PopPop will find my flower child.

GG and PopPop came to help us make these monkey's smile.

Katy Ellis loves pumpkins too!

Wheelbarrow ride!

At one point, Blakely was actually kissing a pumpkin. She crazy.

Children of the corn

This girl love her GG!

This one "SO BIG!"

Blakely loved finding the little gourds. Had to bribe her with two to get her to sit down for MORE picture.

Magical. FINALLY the perfect pic.

So... we went to the pumpkin patch to get a pumpkin but they were WAY too expensive!! Like $20 a pumpkin... robbery! So we told Blakely that her pumpkin had been sent to Publix!!

These two cuties were so good, they got two pumpkins!! $5.99 is a MUCH, MUCH better price.

I think KE's pumpkin might weigh more than she does!!

The next day, we attempted to carve pumpkins with Blakely.

She liked getting to see the insides and watching Mommy and Daddy carve the pumpkin, but unfortunately there are too many knives involved with pumpkin carving for Blakely to actually do anything.

She named this one "Katy Ellis"... I think its that one toothed grin.

Because she didn't get to do much carving, I let her finger paint the pumpkin with the "B" on it.

Stylish.

Not sure why she wanted to sport a "Mr.Clean" pose for this picture, but she was super proud!!

That night when the sun went down, we lit out pumpkins, played barefoot in the grass after dark, lay in the yard and watched the stars. It was a magical night. I think Blakely think these events are part of our "holiday traditions," because every night now when the sun goes down she wants a repeat. It has been really fun and really special.

LOVE MY HOLIDAY LOVING GIRL!!
