Mountain Trip Part VI

June 28th- July 5th: 4th of July Fireworks Fun

On July 3rd, we headed up to the golf course around sunset, because we had been told it was the best spot to see the fireworks show. We were a little uncertain as to how the girls would do staying up that late, but I am so thankful we decided to risk it!! Such a special, magical night! The perfect way to cap off our vacation!!

Rich and his girls scoping out a good place to watch the show.

This weather! Paradise!!

She thinks she is big.

I showed Blakely how if you throw a flower off a bridge up stream, and then run to the other side of the bridge you can see it float downstream. This apparently was the best discovery ever, because she then proceeded to do this 100x. She would run off and pick a flower or two, run back the bridge and toss it over the side and then run to other side of the bridge to watch the flower float by. She loved it!

Watching her flower float by!

Picking wildflowers.

At dusk, the fireworks started!!

She got a little bit excited!

It was so magical! It was chilly, but Blakely was still barefoot and running around! She loved the pink ones and the "pom-pom" ones! There were 3 different sites - north (in front of us), east (right of us) and to the south (behind us). You never knew which site was going to go off next so we were always spinning around and pointing. Blakely loved it.

Blakely loved it so much, that on July 4th Daddy put on our own Redneck Fireworks show in the parking lot.

(This is not real... Richard thought it would be hilarious to send out this "Bad Dad" pic. Heehee.)

Love the joy on her little face!!

Happy 4th of July, Y'all!!

On July 5th, we packed it up and headed home. Such a perfect vacation with memories I will cherish forever!! Can't wait to go back next year!!

Mountain Trip Part V

June 28th- July 5th: Giddy Up Pony!!

After breakfast on Thursday, we headed down to the Dillard House stables to visit the Petting Zoo and for Blakely to go horseback riding. Blakely currently has two major things that she love horses and mermaids. I knew she would love getting to go horseback riding!

Blakely on her new best friend, Sadie!

Katy Ellis and Daddy cheering Blakely on from the sides!

This was a parent led ring ride, so I got to be the one to go with Blakely on her ride.

Blakely was in her "happy place." She would talk to the horses, sing, talk about the fog and the mountains... she would have stayed in the saddle ALL DAY if we had let her.

Our little cowgirl.

KE checking out the goats.

Blakely's sweet horse, Sadie.

Petting the donkey and Shetland ponies.

Blakely named this rooster "Pocco," and she would tell him when to cluck and when to cock-a-doodle. She chased Pocco around while on Sadie and then on foot. Obsessed with this rooster!

Love this picture of my whole family together!!

Mountain Trip Part IV

June 28th-July 5th: Gone Fishin'

After my day on the road, Wednesday we went to Andy's Trout Farm. This was Blakely's first time fishing with her own pole. She was very excited!

They had cane poles for us to you to catch the trout. Blakely was so excited just seeing the fish in the pond. I knew she would be excited when she got one on the hook!

This might be my favorite picture of the whole trip! I love the joy on Rich and Blakely's face with her first catch!! Good job Blakely girl!!

My first catch with Blakely!!

Love these two Fisher-girls!!

This girl loved to see the fish jumping in the grass!!

Rich loved teaching her all the parts of the fish.

Blakely loved petting and "tickling" the fish. Such a weirdy!

Gem mining with my girl.

Blakely loved finding "gold and jewels!" Since we have been home, she has quietly sat looking at all her gems for hours. She loves all her "pretty rocks."

That night, we took our catch to the Valley Café, and they cooked up our catch! It was delicious. Both girls tried and liked the fish they caught. Such a cool way to teach them about where our food comes from! Delicious too!!
