Eve Before the Eve

December 23rd: Family Christmas Party

One of our families favorite Christmas traditions is a lasagna dinner on Christmas Eve. Since we also have "Tober Christmas Day" on Christmas Eve trying to do the Lasagna dinner that night too has proved challenging...especially with the Littles nap schedules and bedtime, etc... So this year, we decided to try something different and have the dinner on Eve before the Eve and have a cousin slumber party at DeeDee and Uncle Re-re's house!! This was so fun and so perfect!! Truly a great night of family fun!!

This party was a team effort! I hosted, Ms. AnnMarie made a salad bar, my mom brought the lasagna, Olivia brought the drinks and Alyssa made the breadsticks. And all the ladies made a LOT of cookies!!

We had a big cookie exchange which was super delicious!!

GG and PopPop gave the kiddo's an early Christmas present...a two way telephone. It works REALLY well, and the Bigs loved it!! They played with the phone for like 30 minutes. Some talking, but mainly a tug a war with Katy Ellis crawling behind them as fast as she could!

"Hello, Banks... are you there?"

Aunt Olivia and Uncle Ryan finally got to meet baby Walker!!

No comment. Bah-ha-ah-ha-ha-ha!

After dinner, the kids took baths and got in their jammies. Then we took turns reading them Christmas books. Banks loves GrandAnnie and has truly adopted her as a 4th (?) Grandmom. That is one blessed little dude.

The Big kids favorite part though was the family sing-a-long!! We sand "Away in a Manger," "O Little Town of Bethlehem," "Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer," and "Jingle Bells." Their favorite part was yelling "HEY!!" during "Jingle Bells."

At the end of the night for the Littles, PopPop read them "The First Christmas Night" and talked to them about Jesus. ***Melts my heart***

These kiddos love their PopPop!!

After we put the kiddos to bed for slumber party, the adults played "Person, Place or Thing." This was super fun and the competition got FIERCE!! I can't wait for the rematch next year. (For the record, the GIRLS WON!!) This is one family tradition we are planning to keep!!

Merry Christmas Eve Before the Eve y'all!! Hope y'all are snuggling with your family and getting ready to celebrate Jesus birth!!
